Deanna & Larry Go Green

Friday night is Date Night for us. Tonight as I was cooking the spaghetti sauce for our Date Night Supper, Larry suggested, “Why don’t you try cooking the sauce on the wood stove?” So I tried that. and it worked very well. Then when it was time to cook the spaghetti noodles, Larry said, “Let’s try to cook the noodles on the wood stove.” I was quite skeptical about this – but we tried it and it worked!! We didn’t use any electricity to cook our supper tonight.

For dessert, we had ice cream topped with crème de menthe.

So tonight we are green in several ways…

I have a few days off work over the Christmas holiday, so if you happen to find yourself on the Norwegian side of town, stop by the farm. We almost always have the coffee on.

Flatbread

Jean, Pam, Sharon Dockter and Macy, all got together this morning to make flatbread. We probably didn't add enough molasses, and if Dale could see our finished product, he would call it 'whitey" flatbread! A lot or a little of molasses, it is yummy either way!

Anyone?

OK all you Lundell kinfolk out there. Some of you must have hosted or gone away for Thanksgiving. Please, someone, post something! You don't have to have pictures to share. Write us a note to let us know how you all are, or talk about a holiday memory of the "good old days"... anything would be great! I'd still like to hear something from Wyatt and some of his travel tales! Don't be afraid...get on here and share with us! That's why this blog was created! Click on "TRIBE OF ADELINE" on the right and see how this huge family stays in touch! Who wants to start?

Rusp

I know it's not real cold out yet, but we had some ham hocks in the freezer that needed to get used up, so today I made rusp (is that the correct spelling?). Sure was good! I always have intentions of making just a small amount, but it always turns out to be a huge kettle full. We have enough left over that we'll probably be eating it for the rest of the week! Pam

Andrew and Jamie's wedding

At 6 a.m. on Saturday November 1st, Gary and Patty picked Curt and me up and we headed to Bemidji for Andrew's wedding. We got to our motel at noon, had a quick sandwich and left for the church. It was a nice sunny day, around 60 degrees. The wedding was just beautiful. Andrew got choked up saying his vows and held up one finger (meaning to give him a minute). Everybody laughed. The dance and reception was held at the country club. We all had a very good time! Jean

Wayne and Ione

Rayleen found this picture at Heather's house one day. We have no idea how it got there. Who knows where the picture was taken? Could it have been at the Town Hall? Was it Wayne and Ione's 10th anniversary or were they celebrating someone elses?
If someone in the family wants the photo, I have it at my house now! Pam

Booya

Gary and Sue hosted the booya this year, at their home in Nerstrand. It was a gorgeous day, witth a good turn out. As usual, the kettle was almost full and there were left overs to take home! Gary got the tractor and wagon out and gave rides! Thank you, Gary and Sue, for a fun filled day! The event will be hosted next year by Darin and Jodi, at their home in Frontenac.
(I was having trouble with this post, and for some reason, you cannot click on and enlarge a lot of the pictures.) Pam
